Craig Baker is a Managing Shareholder of MBL Law.

Mr. Baker’s practice is comprehensive, covering a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including: acquisitions; dispositions; development; leasing; distressed asset workouts; formation and structuring of ownership entities; and debt financing. His previous work experience includes serving as a real estate partner at Dallas-based firm Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP.

Mr. Baker regularly advises investment companies, development companies, REITs, private equity funds, owners/users, sellers and purchasers in transactions involving product types such as office, retail (including shopping centers, in-line, pad site, restaurant and big-box), medical office, surgery centers, hotels, apartments, industrial warehouses and raw land for development purposes. He also represents landlords and tenants in leasing and sale-lease-back transactions involving office properties, retail centers, restaurants, industrial properties and medical office properties.

Mr. Baker’s peers recognize him as a Texas Super Lawyer and D Magazine Best Lawyer for the high standard of legal services and advice he offers his clients. He also enjoys the opportunity to provide thought leadership through a variety of mediums such as speaking at industry events and authoring timely pieces for real estate organizations and legal publications.

Mr. Baker dedicates a significant amount of his time to organizations within the legal and real estate industries as well as throughout the greater Dallas community. He serves or has served as a director of both Downtown Dallas, Inc. and the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association, where he currently serves as a Team Host for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl, and formerly served as a member of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Team Selection Committee. Mr. Baker is a member of the State Bar of Texas’ Real Estate, Probate & Trust Section, the Dallas Bar Association’s Real Property Law Section, The Real Estate Council, Baylor Bear Athletic Foundation, Baylor University College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Board, Highland Park United Methodist Church and Royal Oaks Country Club.

Mr. Baker received his B.A. in Business Administration from Baylor University and graduated cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he was elected to serve on the Texas Tech Law Review and its Board of Editors.
