Cliff Wade Obtains Victory in San Antonio Court of Appeals
DALLAS, August 11, 2016 – Congratulations to MBL Law attorney, Cliff Wade, who recently obtained a victory in San Antonio’s Fourth Court of Appeals in a commercial real estate matter. At trial, Mr. Wade served as lead counsel on behalf of a client seeking more than $2.5 million from two defendants that defaulted on a commercial property promissory note and guarantee.
Upon appeal, Mr. Wade and co-counsel persuaded the court of appeals to find that the defendants had indeed defaulted on the promissory note and guarantee, and that his client’s method for calculating damages was appropriate. The court of appeals opinion remands the case to the trial court for entry of judgment, and Mr. Wade anticipates that the defendants will request a rehearing by the court of appeals.
